Les Gets bike park for beginners: green trails and MTB pass
The Les Gets bike park for beginners: the green Squirrels trail, easy blue trails, MTB lift pass and Portes du Soleil pass prices, and summer 2026 hours.
Beginners at the Les Gets bike park should start on Les Écureuils, the Squirrels, the one green trail on the tourist office's list: 4.9 km from the top of Les Chavannes to the village centre, dropping 490 m. Blue trails are the next step. A mountain bike lift pass is needed for all of it, whether that is a single ride, a card of six or twelve rides, or a Portes du Soleil bike pass for 5 hours, a day, several days or the season. In summer 2026 the bike park ran daily from 19 June to 13 September.
Les Gets bike park green trails
The tourist office's trail list has a single green. The Squirrels is on the Chavannes sector, and the official page calls it the bike park's training track: wide, gentle and clean, with banked turns, root sections, bumps and stretches of undergrowth, through open pasture and forest. It suggests using the length to practise braking and riding position, and to try first leaning turns before moving to the blue La Roue Libre.
At the top of the Chavannes Express chairlift there is a separate beginners' area, with modules for balance, braking, riding position, line choice and small obstacles. The tourist office's summer 2026 press kit, in French, describes a new beginners' piste there with wooden modules. The Coaching Track, graded blue, is a shorter learning area on the Chavannes snow front, with banked bends, small rollers and braking zones.
Blue trails for a second day
Five of the blue trails, with the tourist office's figures:
| Trail | Length | Drop | What the page says |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tomawak | 1.1 km | 110 m | Flow trail on the Chavannes plateau, banked turns and accessible jumps |
| Coaching Track | 1.5 km | 150 m | Learning area built round technique and braking |
| L'Arpette | 2.1 km | 230 m | A transition run from the top of the Chavannes chairlift; flowing banked turns and small rollers |
| La Roue Libre | 2.7 km | 340 m | Pasture, then forest, banked corners and small jumps |
| Les Gets Village (Link) | 3.2 km | 240 m | Smooth, even profile, and the usual way back from Morzine |
Two cautions come from the pages themselves. La Roue Libre is graded blue but has "more nervous sections that require good braking and balance". The Village Link is described as very busy in the late afternoon, so take care where it crosses other trails. The tourist office describes the Mont Chéry side as wilder and more technical, with the World Cup track; its advice for a first run is the Squirrels.
Les Gets bike park lift pass and MTB pass
The lift company's summer 2026 page offers three ways in: single rides and cards, passes for the pre-opening weekends, and the Portes du Soleil pass. The figures below are from it. It names the lifts that carry bikes as the Mont Chéry gondola, the Chavannes Express and the Nauchets chairlift. The Pointe chairlift is not on that list.
| Pass, summer 2026 | Adult | Child (5 to 15) | Young (16 to 25) and senior (65+) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single ride, gondola or Chavannes Express | €7.50 | €5.60 | €6.40 |
| Six-ride card | €28.20 | €28.20 | €28.20 |
| Twelve-ride card | €50 | €50 | €50 |
| Portes du Soleil, 5 hours, web | €35 | €26 | €32 |
| Portes du Soleil, 1 day, web | €39 | €29 | €35 |
| Portes du Soleil, 3 days, web | €111 | €83 | €100 |
A Portes du Soleil season pass is also sold, but the lift company's page and the tourist office's packages page give different figures for it, so check the current price. Desk prices are higher for short passes: a day pass was €41 for an adult and €31 for a child. The cards are valid for 18 months and can be shared. Under-fives ride free on the single rides and cards, with ID; the price page does not give a free age for the Portes du Soleil pass. Groups of four or more get 10% off passes of four days or more, in one payment. For the weekends before the full opening, when only the Chavannes and Nauchets chairlifts ran, Les Gets sold its own passes from 5 hours to 4 days.
The Portes du Soleil pass is the one that reaches the other resorts' bike parks; the Portes du Soleil site describes it as one pass for all the slopes and lifts in the area. Buying online is cheaper and avoids the queue. The tourist office's own pages show other single-ride prices, so use the lift company's summer price page. A walking pass does not carry a bike.
Bike park opening dates and hours, summer 2026

What a beginner needs
The tourist office's pages are specific on protection. Helmets are compulsory at the Mini Jump Park, with knee pads, elbow pads and a back protector strongly recommended. Its hire page says every hire company offers packages with full-face helmets, knee pads, elbow pads and chest protectors, and that for downhill an enduro or DH bike with full protection is highly recommended. For a first experience of the mountains it suggests an electric mountain bike, and the lifts accept them. Book hire a few weeks ahead, particularly for electric and downhill bikes.
The tourist office lists ten hire partners and a number of bike schools and guides. For lessons and hire for children see the kids' bike hire and lessons guide, and for riding with a young family away from the lifts, the family mountain biking guide. The wider summer guide covers the rest of the season.
