Where to stay in La Tania

La Tania accommodation is mostly apartments and chalets, plus the Le Montana hotel and Bârma, a new hotel and residence opening this winter. The village is small and car-free in the centre, and the tourist office says its accommodation is close to the pistes, so the choice is less about distance than about what kind of place you want.

The centre of the village is the snow front and the Esplanade des Tornets, with the shops, the tourist office, the ski school and the gondola. Residences such as Le Britania are here; most of the chalets the tourist office lists are a short walk away.

Around the snow front

Stay here if you want to walk out of the door and onto the lifts. The centre is pedestrian, and the ESF and the free Kodiak beginner area are on the snow front, which makes this the easy choice with beginners.

Away from the centre

Most of the chalets the tourist office lists are a few minutes' walk from the pistes or the gondola, and one, at the top of the village, has ski-in, ski-out access.

La Tania hotels

  • Le Montana sits on La Tania's main run, with 70 recently renovated rooms, most of them with balconies, and a spa with a heated pool, jacuzzi, hammam and sauna. Its listing with the tourist office says it is now run by the family that owns it, that dinner is three courses every evening from 18:30, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices, and that breakfast is included.
  • Bârma opens this winter on the route de Praz-Juget. It describes itself as a ski-in, ski-out hotel and residence, with 75 rooms and suites, including family rooms and duplexes for four, a restaurant on the snow front, La Table de Bârma, and a Susanne Kaufmann spa with an indoor pool. It is a partner hotel of the ESF La Tania, and says it opens each year from December to April and in July and August.

La Tania apartments

Most of the tourist office's La Tania listings are apartments and chalets. Among them:

  • Résidence Pierre & Vacances Le Britania, at 59 esplanade des Tornets in the centre of the village.
  • Bârma's apartments: the tourist office lists seventy fully equipped apartments sized for families, ski-in, ski-out, with an on-site concierge and end-of-stay cleaning included.
  • Apartments let by their owners in the original residences, such as a renovated three-room flat for five in the Résidence L'Atrey, in the centre.

The tourist office's apartment listings cover the rest.

La Tania chalets

The tourist office lists chalets to rent in La Tania for groups of eight and more. Among them:

  • Chalet Pommat, a log chalet with four bedrooms, 200 m from the La Tania gondola.
  • Chalet Renoir, a 150 m² chalet for ten in La Tania's historic quarter.
  • Chalet le Creux de l'Ours, in the trees at the top of the village, with ski-in, ski-out access.

The tourist office's chalet listings cover the rest; check each for arrival days and what is included before you book.

Staying with children

Childcare is in the village. The Halte-garderie La Tanière des Croès takes children from six months to four years, and up to five for half-days alongside ski lessons. For 2026/27 it opens from 7 December 2026 to 16 April 2027, Sunday to Friday, 8:30 to 17:30, and you book through the Courchevel town hall's online family portal. From age three, the ESF La Tania's Club Piou Piou takes over.

For a family of four in one room, Bârma has family rooms and duplexes. For space, an apartment near the snow front or a chalet suits better, and the snow front puts you next to the ski school and the beginner area.

The La Tania guide covers lift passes for families, including free skiing for under-fives.

Getting around from where you stay

You won't need a car once you arrive. The centre is pedestrian, and the free Courchevel buses link La Tania with the other villages; you can follow them in real time on the Mobilité Courchevel app. If you drive, the town hall's Parking Moretta in the village has 99 spaces, paid by card on the way out, and the tourist office lists a campervan area at La Tania with no services.
